Environmental Policy
Goodwins Timber Frame's core business activity is the manufacture of bespoke timber frame designs, utilising the latest fully automated and computer controlled equipment, for use in the construction of apartments, houses and the like.
Goodwins Timber Frame understands that its operations have an impact on the environment and is therefore committed to continual environmental improvement. The Company regards good environmental practice as a natural part of good business practice.
In recognition of this the Company is implementing an environmental management system which will result in the following:
- The minimisation of all waste and the promotion of waste separation and recycling
- The reduction in the use of natural resources including our building energy consumption, vehicle usage and other activities
- The procurement of timbers and sheet materials from appropriately certified and sustainable sources, working only with suppliers who have approved environmental policies
- The installation of plant and newly purchased equipment that is capable of meeting known and likely future control standards
- A commitment to the prevention of pollution
- The promotion of workforce awareness of our environmental issues
- The compliance with all relevant legislation fulfilling our statutory environmental responsibilities
- The provision of necessary resources to ensure that the Company can fulfil the commitment stated in this policy
Regular checks and monitoring will be conducted to ensure the effectiveness of the environmental management system. Records will be kept to provide environmental performance indicators and demonstrate legal compliance.
